Ljubljana isn’t a city you just “tick off” a list. It’s a city you experience, a city you feel. Small, authentic, tidy, green, and full of surprises. One of the safest capitals in the world, where you can stroll even at night without worry.

Ljubljana is an old city – people have lived here since before Roman times. As the capital of Slovenia, it offers numerous museums. Some of the most popular are:
- Museum of Modern Art – a journey through 20th- and 21st-century Slovenian and international art
- Slovenian Museum of Natural History – explore the wonders of nature, from fossils to native wildlife
- Plečnik House – discover the life and work of Slovenia’s most famous architect, Jože Plečnik
- Museum of Contemporary History of Slovenia – learn about Slovenia’s 20th-century history, from World Wars to independence
- Slovenian Ethnographic Museum – delve into Slovenian traditions, folk culture, and everyday life
- Slovenian Railway Museum – a look at the history of railways in Slovenia, with old locomotives and interactive exhibits

A walk through the narrow streets takes you from history to nature, from architecture to the local vibe and cuisine. This guide will take you to Ljubljana’s most interesting spots in just a few hours of relaxed walking. We’ve also included some hidden gems that most tourists miss.
